The Bangalore Alumni Meet was held at Taj Gateway Hotel on February 26th, 2011. This was the second meet in Bangalore, first being last year when the idea of a chapter meet was introduced. About 100 attended out of which 66 were Alumni from PGDM, PGDSM-MIT and PGEMP.

The Meet started with an interesting Ice Breaker activity, which was planned to bring together alumnus from different batches and different companies together. This was well received and enabled interaction among a larger and more diverse group.

Prof Aditi Divatia made a presentation about the structure that is taking shape for the Alumni – Institute Relations. Mr Haresh Amre, (alumnus PGDM 1994), currently in Infosys, took the discussion forward, encouraging participation from the alumni present. There was a healthy and enriching discussion on the “way ahead” for the alumni-institute relations.

There were several enthusiastic alumni from all batches ranging from 1983 to the most recent batches who volunteered to manage the alumni activities at Bangalore.

The meet ended with a humorous and engaging note from two alumni from Mr Jawahar Beekay and Mr Lovaii Navlakhi from the batch of 1983, the first batch to pass out of SPJIMR.

The faculty present at the Meet were Prof Abbasali Gabula, Prof Bindu Kulkarni, Prof Latha Nair, Dr Mayank Joshipura, Prof Vanita Bhoola, Dr Uma Narain, Prof Sajeev George, Prof Nilanjan, Prof Sood and Prof Aditi Divatia.

The Bangalore Alumni Meet, February 26th, 2011
