Chennai Alumni Meet - August 2010 The Chennai Alumni Meet was held at Rain Tree Hotel, Alwarpet on 21st August, 2010. It was attended by Prof. Indu Niranjan, Prof. Latha Nair, Prof. Radhika Narayan and Prof Aditi Divatia. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from alumni from our PGDM, PGPM, PGEMP, PGDSM- MIT and FMB who came in along with their families, making it a fruitful gathering of 90 people. The composition of the Alumni ranged from 1983 to 2010 batches. Dr. S.S. Badrinath, Chairman Emeritus - Sankara Nethralaya, and his wife were the Guests of Honour. Dr Badrinath, along with six other philanthropists, is the founder of the Medical and Vision Research foundation at Chennai. Sankara Nethralaya is a non – profit hospital of this foundation which treats about 1200 people from India and abroad everyday and performs 100 free surgeries. Mr. Krishnan and Mr. P.V Prakash, two Alumni from our first batch – the batch of 1983, shared nostalgic memories of their stint at SPJIMR. More than ten alumni reminisced about their days at the institute. “SPJIMR is not an institute – it is an Experience”, a statement made by one alumni, summed up the sentiments of all those who attended the meet and made it a success.
