Continuing Management Education on Project Management

PMBOK® - Preparation for PMP® Certification
Alumni Fees Waived – Attend Program Free!
This program covers the overall Project Management perspective along with processes and knowledge areas. It is essentially based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) propounded by Project Management Institute, U.S.A. and is a recommended module for PMP® certificate Learning objectives:
• Creating Internal expertise in the domain of Project Management through giving candidates the knowledge needed to be project management professionals
• Helping Candidates attain the highly accredited Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Establish a global framework based on understanding of PM terms and concepts
• Understand the purpose, inputs, outputs and tools and techniques of PM processes and knowledge areas

Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED)

The Start Your Business Program goes National
The Center for Entrepreneurship Development at the institute conducts the pioneering public program for aspiring entrepreneurs -Start Your Business Program (SYB)

The SYB-BLP (Blended Learning Program) is an adaptation of the SYB Program designed to offer a mix of classroom sessions at SPJIMR, Mumbai and sessions on Reliance World's Virtual Classroom platform. The SYB-BLP will be conducted on SPJIMR campus for 5 days followed by virtual classroom sessions on weekends. The capstone of the program is presentation of business plan before investors by the participants at SPJIMR.

The first SYB-BL Program will commence on 15th October,2010.

Autumns Placements 2010

The Autumns placement process was conducted in the month of August 2010. The institute attracted over 40 premier companies across the Financial Services, IT, Investment Banking, FMCG, Private Equity, Manufacturing, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and Media sectors. These include TAS, Miebach Consulting, Microsoft, GSK, Reckitt Benckiser, P&G, HUL, Marico, Nestle, Intel, J&J Consumer, Wipro, General Electric, Edelweiss, Axis Bank, HT Media, Dabur, Citibank and Development Bank of Singapore among others.
There were 15 new companies offering around 70 offers. These include Ernst & Young, Jeffries, JP Morgan, Accenture, Kubera, Mahindra and Mahindra, Phillips, Schlumberger, Cap gemini and many others.

Inaugural CEBS Conference on Implications of the Indo European Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

SPJIMR and the European School of Business (ESB), Reutlingen University, Germany (under the EU funded Centre for European Business Studies -CEBS) has organised its inaugural annual international conference on November 26 - 27, 2010 at SPJIMR, Mumbai. The theme of the conference is ‘Implications of the Indo-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The Free Trade Agreement is expected to be finalised in December 2010. This agreement is likely to have far reaching implications for Indian industry especially companies having a stake in the European Union.
This conference aims at exploring current issues, challenges and opportunities in the proposed Indo-EU FTA and to prepare Industry for the phase after the FTA is finalised.
Besides a panel discussion on the general impact of the FTA on India, there are special discussions on implications of the FTA on the financial sector, automobile sector and the textile sector. The elite panels will comprise representatives from Indian and EU government and industry.
Please block these dates in your calendar. You and your colleagues are welcome to register your participation in the conference. Registration details will be sent across in due course.

Management Development Program on "Blue Ocean Strategy"

From Competitive Strategy to Blue Ocean Strategy
This four day program is designed to deliver an appreciation of and a contrast between Competitive Strategy and Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS). Participants will leave the program with a direction in which you may craft your strategy for the future. The program is built around a business simulation where you experience fierce competition initially and then using BOS tools such as the strategy canvas, the value curve, the four actions framework- the ERRC grid and so on, you create a blue ocean- a new market space with new boundaries for your virtual company.

Program Dates: December 10th to December 13th 2010; Preferential fees for alumni
Tentative Venue: Northpoint Centre of Learning- A contemporary centre of learning, tucked away in the highest reaches of Khandala near Mumbai
