The Alumni Committee conducted 4 Alumni meets in December, held on the 16th and the 17th of December, 2011. The batches of 1986, 1996 and 2006 were felicitated for their respective anniversaries in the lead-up to the conglomeration of all the batches on the evening of the 17th.

The venue for the evening event was set in the open air for the first time. The ground next to the Shiv Mandir had been done up over the past few days and the setting was quite a stark shift from the previous years. The stage looked grand and ready for a marvellous night. The band ‘Assyrian Dreams’ – comprises of many talented musicians and singers from the PGP-1 batch.

Some of the Alumni (from the batch of 1983 in particular) even went up to the stage and sang some classic numbers, which were simply amazing. The round tables were full of laughter and chatter, with the Alumni catching up on old times. The atmosphere was lively and infectious. For the first time in SPANDAN, the Alumni Committee made available to the Alumni, souvenirs specially made for them at the AL-MART – A merchandise store with SPJIMR mugs, caps, torches, T-shirts, Bamboo products, etc. The store was a huge hit and the Alumni were very pleased to now be able to own and use the SPJIMR items.

Then the Alumni and faculty interacted over Dinner and refreshments. The curtains were drawn on a successful SPANDAN, with rounds of appreciation from the Alumni who attended the event and from faculty. Hundreds of visiting cards exchanged, a thousand smiles exchanged, and most importantly the satisfaction of reliving college days and catching up with friends, made it all worth it.
